Creating a Second Home for Students

Help me give my students flexible seating to enhance their learning and create a comfortable school environment. Students spend most of their day at school, so they should be able to enjoy it.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 19 amazing 4th grade students. They are very intelligent and constantly continue to grow their knowledge. They deserve so much based on the amount of effort they put into their schoolwork.

I am working towards creating a very effective learning environment in which all students have access to the materials and resources that they need.My students are diverse in terms of learning styles and providing these necessary resources to scaffold learning would make it great difference.

My Project

It is apparent that flexible seating enhances student learning. Teachers often have large comfortable chairs while students have hard, metal chairs. Teachers are given a teachers lounge which often has couches and is a place for relaxation. Students are not given this at school even though they spend majority of their day there. If students are not comfortable while they are learning, they are more likely thinking about their uncomfortableness and how they cannot wait for recess or lunch or the end of the day. I want to create an environment where students do not need to worry about these things. I teach at a Title I school in which most students do not have much. With the little I have provided so far, my students are ecstatic. I would like to provide my students with as much love and support that I can possibly give and I believe providing them with these resources would be a great start.
