When I received the resources for this project, I was thrilled to bring this incredible story of resilience and hope into the hands of my fourth graders. This novel is not merely a story about a girl moving from Mexico to California during the Great Depression; it is a profound tool for fostering empathy, understanding historical contexts of immigration, and analyzing character transformation. Reading this novel will help my students make cultural connections because they have many similarities to the main character of the story. My fourth graders have started this amazing novel and I hope we get to finish it before the academic year ends.","fullyFundedDate":1771006597153,"projectUrl":"project/read-daily/10006137/","projectTitle":"Read Daily","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Attaryan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3638327_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1531633663201","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-attaryan"},{"teacherId":3638327,"projectId":9926613,"letterContent":"The students in the Journalism class continue to write articles about our school and staff.
