Creating a Safe Space to Regulate Student's Emotions

My Project

My classroom is designated area where all students in 1st-5th grades, can feel safe and secure to regulate their emotions.

By having a calming space outside of their classroom, I have helped create a supportive environment where students can learn valuable emotional regulation skills and enhance their overall well-being.

I encourage students to use these calming tools to help support their emotional well-being and help them manage stress effectively so they are able to return to class. By establishing a dedicated safe space for anger regulation, many students can learn to cope with their emotions constructively and develop valuable skills for managing anger in a healthy manner.

By incorporating a calming area into our school, my colleagues can benefit from a supportive space that promotes relaxation, emotional regulation, and overall well-being for their students. They know their student is in a safe environment where they have tools to help them regulate their emotions and will return calmer, ready to learn.
