This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help me create a peace room for our school because they provide a safe and supportive environment where students can constructively manage their emotions and conflicts. When our students have access to a space like this, they can address their emotional needs without disrupting their learning environment in classrooms or parts of the school.

Items such as sensory tools and calming visuals help students manage their emotions and calm down when they are feeling overwhelmed.

A sofabed, activity table, stools, comfy seating and soft materials create a comfortable and safe space for students to feel secure enough to open up about their feelings and experiences. Finally, sand, fidgets, and art supplies will help students express their emotions which can be therapeutic as they process their feelings.
