This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in a self-contained classroom as a first year teacher. All my students have Autism and I have been working hard on creating an amazing calming corner with sensory activities. My students love alternative seating and would thrive with bean bag chairs. We have been working on learning emotions and playing games as a group to help with social emotional learning. Having brand new games will help increase motivation to play and allow us to play a complete game. All of my sensory activities have been previously used and are in dire need of replacement to help my students thrive. Any of these items would improve my classroom and students lives greatly.
