Creating a Positive Classroom Environment

Help me give my students the opportunity to participate in a positive classroom environment. Items ordered will be used to promote a healthy classroom community!

My Project

We are excited for a fresh start to the school year. Over the past few days our staff participated in an amazing PD training. The presentation focused on making positive connections and productive classroom management. In order to implement these new strategies, we need the following items to be successful.

As a team we strive to build positive relationships, improve academics, create social awareness and develop effective behavior management.

The students will utilize theses supplies when working in collaborative groups. The craft sticks will have the students names, they will be pulled by students to create partners or groups. This will help all students fell included so no one is left out, "picked last", can't find a partner or group. The pails will help with organization. They will hold station items: scissors, markers, handouts... basically any item their group needs to complete an assignments. Little uno cards will help the group leader facilitate their group: wild card means someone is off tasks - this is a visual reminder so names do not have to be called out. Reverse card: to change to order the group is working in. Skip well be held up to let teacher know they skipped a problem and need help. Each card in the deck has a way to manage behaviors effectively. SPAM can holds the little cards. The big cards are used when presenting to the whole class. Clappers are to encourage and support classmates.

The students of Lahaina are so special in many ways. Number one, they are resilient. Surviving covid was huge and now we are still recovering from the fire last year. Even with everything they lost, students show up every day and try their best. Giving us these supplies will make their time on campus less stressful and more meaningful.
