My Project

The students in my first grade class have a "rainbow of possibilities" to be creative in our classroom environment using an array of materials to make various projects. While we just celebrated Earth Day and all that is important to keep the Earth sustained, it is also SO important to keep our classroom climate a happy place!

Creativity in writing and illustrating our own books would be such an amazing thing to have at our fingertips.

My students participate in project based learning on a regular basis and write their own informational research papers. Once they finish their writing, they type their information they researched into a three page book, and then use clip art to create their illustrations for their topic. By donating the black and color ink cartridges to our room, we can print the books and illustrations using ink right from our own classroom printer. How cool is that?

My students have endless ways to express their creativity and enhance our classroom environment. Every week, we have a craft project that we use various colors of construction paper to create. The students love to trace patterns and glue them together to create characters or items from our project based learning. Students will also have the ability to use the Crayola Twistables to add details to their craft projects once they have completed their assembly. This also helps to enhance their fine motor skills , comprehension skills and brain development that young minds need.

Last but not least, to help sustain our classroom climate we are in need of a few items to help our environment be a brighter place. The rainbow doormat, signs, and rainbow sunshine decor will help to make our room bright so the students will have infinite chan
