My Students
My students are an extremely special group of kids. They come from all different backgrounds and learning abilities. We are a full inclusion school which means that some of our students have special needs. They are a hardworking group who are striving to be leaders in their community.
I love working in my school because we are a classical school.
This means we focus on teaching classical literature, Latin, history, and art before we incorporate technology. This gives students the chance to build their own knowledge base and opinions before turning to the internet for answers. I believe we give our students something unique that other schools do not provide.
My Project
As I have said before, my students are very special and come from a variety of backgrounds. Some of them have rough home lives or live in unstable situations. When they come to school they struggle to focus on learning some days.
This training would help me better meet my students' needs by giving me the tools to better help their social-emotional needs.
I have been researching many techniques and I think that mindfulness can really benefit kids inside and outside of the classroom. I want to be able to teach them these methods so that they can be set up for success no matter what life throws at them.
