Creating a New Reading Area and Calm Area

Help me give my students a new place to read and a place to go to when they need to take time to calm down or just take a quick break from a busy day.

My Students

My students are energetic, thoughtful, and creative children. They have a love for learning and they are super intelligent. They enjoy reading books and creating their own books. Our school is located in the heart of a beautiful river side town. The students in my class have a variety of seating and tons of fun things to do. They would benifit from a fun and relaxing area to enjoy a good book or to take a break from our busy (sometime overwhelming) days.

My Project

My kindergarten children spend their busy days learning and interacting with their peers. Sometimes they need a place to go to take some time to calm down and help prepare themselves to return to their work. The teepee will be a nice addition to my classroom, it will offer a little seclusion from our already busy environment. The pillows will offer comfort to them when they are taking a minute away. The teepee and pillows would also add a fun place to sit and enjoy a good book with a friend. My students could also use the teepee as an addition to their ‘imagination station play area’!
