My Students

My students are my heart! I want to provide my students with the same opportunities as I do my own son. I am a special education teacher in 6th grade. Although I have a group of special education students, I teach all of the students in the classroom. They range from pre-k to sixth grade level even though they are sixth grade. My students are loving, creative and passionate about learning. However many of my students do not have the basic school supplies to come prepared to learn. Many of them do not have books to read at home. It is hard to encourage a love of learning when they are lacking some of these things, especially as we enter virtual learning. Students will need individual supplies at home that can help them learn and reach their potential. My students are so appreciative of even the smallest things. I want to display an environment that is fun, engaging and inviting. I want my students to be excited when they see and hopefully, will eventually walk into my classroom. My classroom is their home away from home. I want school to be their home away from home.

My Project

I am moving to middle school this year. I will be teaching sixth grade at the House of Leadership. I would like to create an environment that is vibrant, exciting and engaging. I want the students to see words that encourage and inspire them to be all that they can be. In addition I want to make sure that there are basic supplies that they will need to start on the road to greatness.

These classroom supplies and decorations will assist my students to become engage, motivated and active learners in middle school!
