This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Creating a multicultural center will bring joy to my class.

My students are fun and energetic five- and six-year-olds.

Most are experiencing going to school for the very first time. They get excited when the opportunity to do or use something "new" comes along. My students attend school in California, and they are considered to be economically challenged and receive free lunch.

My Project

Providing students with an environment that is conducive to learning is key in order for them to aspire to achieve. When my students feel comfortable, safe, and respected, their success in class increases. The books and puzzles I am requesting will heighten their awareness of other cultures and countries. Through these materials we will find similarities and differences in the cultures we explore. These materials will be an excellent resource that will help them value their background as well as others they learn about. I am also requesting bean bags so my students have a comfortable place to read.
