This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to know I believe in them, and they can do anything. I happily give it my all to teach these incredibly curious and imaginative students with high energy and engagement. Most of them speak English as a second language in an inner-city, Title I school and struggle through many hardships before even entering the classroom.

Despite many challenges, my students love learning and trying new ideas to make their projects better.

Our school supports all kinds of creative thought processes. In a high poverty neighborhood, school is sometimes the only safe place that can provide support and opportunity to overcome the struggles of meeting our rigorous state standards.

My Project

Our school has embraced STEAM learning. Within our Vision is the belief that student projects and investigations are the most engaging ways to enhance learning.

Making movies is embraced worldwide as a creative and collaborative form of expression.

We need a pair of external hard drives to archive the many student created films that we will write, produce, and film this school year. Film files are very large and can overwhelm student computers so the need for these extra drives is great. Students plan to archive every film made so that they can be both enjoyed as well as used as learning tools for future film-makers. We appreciate any support that can be provided in acquiring this essential accessory. Thank you!
