Creating a More Interactive Classroom

My Project

Every day, I get to work with some of the most motivated and hardworking students you could ever meet. I teach government and economics at a Career and Technical high school, where students are preparing for real careers in fields like culinary arts, engineering, construction, biomedical science, and education. They’re driven, career-focused, and always looking to connect what we’re learning in class to the world beyond high school. It’s exciting to be part of their journey and to see them grow into confident, skilled young professionals.

This iPad Mini with a case that has a handhold will completely change the way I teach—and the way my students learn.

Right now, I’m limited to my desk when using our new interactive whiteboard system, which replaced our old projectors. With an iPad, I’ll be free to move around the room, keep students on task, and help them right where they are. It’ll make my teaching more interactive and my classroom more student focused. Even better, students will use the iPad to create videos, presentations, and projects that showcase what they’ve learned in fun, creative ways. This isn’t just about tech—it’s about giving students the tools to think critically, express themselves, and take ownership of their learning.

What makes my students truly special is their passion and determination. They’re not just preparing for tests—they’re preparing for life. Many of them compete in events related to their fields and earn top honors at both state and national levels. We’re proud to be part of the fifth largest school district in the country, and even prouder of our 100% graduation rate.
