Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach both 7th and 8th-grade social studies in a school with educational challenges. Our students are using a new English curriculum (ARC) that focuses on social studies. We are the only school using this curriculum. Our 7th graders learn about US History and our 8th graders learn about World Geography.

Our students need to be able to access videos to enrich their learning.

It is impossible to have up to 29 computers play videos at one time without the entire classroom being distracted. Playing the video from the teacher's computer will not work. Students need to be able to play the video over and over to cite evidence or paraphrase information. Headphones will allow our students to enrich their learning and show mastery through project-based learning.

Along with this, our students work better when listening to music. By using headphones they will not distract other students (no competing music).
