My classroom has limited technology. When I plug my outdated laptop into the LCD projector I can only use it to project what I want the class to see. There are limitations that I have with an old computer. By donating the laptop and surface pro I can have the students view different items, videos, pictures, play music, translate lessons to different languages, and create videos during school hours. The Surface Pro will allow me to hand students technology that they can use in class to assist them with their daily learning. It can easily be passed around or used within a group. Students can delve deeper into the learning and connect to the past or another country and culture. As a teacher I am constantly grading, providing feedback, editing and revising work, research papers, and projects. Having 2 pieces of technology in the classroom will be a dream come true. I will be able to walk around the class, providing input, and entering grades. As for projects submitted through Google Docs and Classroom I can use the Surface Pro to do real time editing and provide feedback during class and prep time. The Surface Pro will help me with some of my other team duties. I am somewhat tech savvy and write different databases for my team (mainly in MicroSoft Excel). This year we are focusing in on new district and federal testing, data points, and student improvement. Along with this I would like to create a parent-student database that houses all of our contacts, report card nights, parent meetings, and any other important information.
