This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials I’m requesting would be so nice for my students, many of whom are recent immigrants navigating new academic and social landscapes. First, poster paper is vital for collaborative projects that help students build language and teamwork skills. Visual learning is especially helpful for students who may still be developing English proficiency, allowing them to express ideas through visuals and keywords.

The bookcase will showcase books at my students' eye level, inviting them to explore a range of reading materials.

This accessibility encourages curiosity and supports differentiated learning by offering books at multiple levels. By including culturally diverse books, I can ensure students feel represented and respected, fostering an inclusive and engaging environment.

Play-Doh serves as a tactile tool that can help students manage stress and stay focused, during lectures and presentations. Simple sensory activities offer a calming effect, which is particularly beneficial for students adjusting to a new school and country.

Finally, the posters reinforces our classroom as a welcoming space where all students feel valued and included. It sends a clear message that diversity is celebrated here, helping students build confidence as they adapt.

Together, these materials create a safe, supportive environment where my students can thrive academically and emotionally.
