Do you remember your favorite teacher reading to you during read aloud time? Think about your teacher getting so excited to share a new story with you that they just found. My students share in that same excitement each day when we come together for whole group read aloud time.
My students are book-loving, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves reading, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We are incorporating a variety of reading in the classroom like read aloud, partner reading, independent reading and literature circles to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to read each day!
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy hearing during our read aloud time.
With these new books, my students will be able to hear a variety of books that will lead them to reading independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in read aloud time in our classroom.
