Creating a Hunger For Knowledge and Reading Practice

My Project

I work with students who might struggle with reading or dyslexia, and I absolutely love my job! My students are so excited to come to class every day, and they are extremely excited about improving their reading skills. I have trained hard to work with students who struggle with dyslexia and other reading difficulties, and am in a position where I can really make a difference in helping these students who are often overlooked in the typical classroom.

After working with my students through an entire year, and seeing how far they have come in reading, I find that I am needing to move them on to a more challenging level, which is great news, especially for a child who struggles with dyslexia!

I am super excited to be asking for Scholastic Nonfiction Short Reads at Level L!

Getting to this level is a wonderful accomplishment for my students! They have made so much progress! These short reads are wonderful because they are at the perfect level for my students, they are very interesting to read, and they are full of great information that the students can pull knowledge from. We will also be using these for pulling facts to practice writing. There are 6 sets of 10 different nonfiction reads, which is absolutely perfect for our needs. My students will have the opportunity to keep on growing with these wonderful nonfiction texts. Thank you so much for your support! We really appreciate it. These can be used for years and years to come, with many students.
