Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 3rd grade in a Title I school. This pandemic was quite a surprise for everyone. I saw my students on Friday and that was the last time. My students are a very sweet bunch of kiddos. They don't have much, but when we do receive items or resources their excitement is infectious.
This virus COVID 19 has turned our world upside down with uncertainty, and we do not know if we will ever return to a normal classroom.
My Project
Since the Covid-19 pandemic that has jolted our lives as we knew it. This has caused an uncertainty in our schools and our students. Children are put into a world of confusion, unstructured learning, and for most a safe place.
The items I chose for my project will allow me to create resources for my students that they will need for lessons, whether we are at home or school.
I am going to have to create a classroom in my home for distant learning. I will no longer have access to the school when I need. So I'm ordering the small table top dry erase board to use while on-line to explain strategies for reading, math, social studies, and science lessons. The laminator will help to create resources and strategies to keep in their ELA or Math interactive notebooks, plus laminating will keep me from reprinting these resources every year. The paper cutter will allow me to save paper and print smaller and cut worksheets or strategy foldables to fit my students folders. The hole puncher will help students and myself to keep them in our folders and organize for learning. These items I am requesting will help me perform my job more efficient and effectively. There are lessons and resources that I can have prepared for the days we do or if we go back.
This project changed due to the rules for schools due to the pandemic. We will not be allowed to use tables anymore, so I had to make a decision on what I could use to help make my classroom run from home. So I hope you will help me accomplish this project.
