This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students provide inspiration to me each and every day. Despite the situation they wake up to in the morning, they come to school with their future in mind. They are responsible, goal oriented and have an endless amount of potential.

Regardless of their origin, circumstances, or what society has said, they are determined to live out every one of their dreams.

They are living, breathing, proof of resilience. They are committed to redefining what it means to be a student.

My Project

I have created this project with the hopes that students will see books on this book shelf and see themselves, in turn it will encourage them to want to read the stories that may be more relatable than what they have read before. There are only a few students in my classes that admit to enjoy reading. I think this is because they have been asked to read books that they do not relate to, I believe that this project may change that. That a few might grow to a handful and eventually grow even more.
