My Project
I am reaching out with hope and purpose to request your support in transforming my classroom into a space that honors racial justice, representation, and the unique identities of each of my students. I teach in a Title I school where many children come from underrepresented backgrounds and deserve to see themselves reflected in the environment around them.
I am seeking donations for a large bean bag chair and Black history posters, along with culturally relevant decorations that will create an affirming and inclusive space for learning.
The bean bag chair will be a centerpiece in our reading corner—a soft, safe, and comforting spot where students can sit with a good book and feel at home. For many of my students, this simple comfort can make a huge difference in their emotional well-being and ability to focus.
The Black history posters and décor will be more than just decoration—they will be daily reminders of strength, brilliance, and resilience. From trailblazers like Rosa Parks and Malcolm X to modern leaders like Amanda Gorman and Stacey Abrams, these visuals will spark powerful conversations, inspire pride, and encourage students to dream boldly.
This project is rooted in equity. It’s about creating a space where all students feel seen, valued, and inspired. Your donation will help send the message: “You belong here, and your story matters.”
