This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, bright, and kind. Their families come from all over the world, which never fails to bring an interesting and unique dynamic to my speech room.

My students deserve to feel comfortable, calm, and cozy in their learning space.

With this pretty area rug, highly adjustable floor lamps, and fluorescent light coverings, the speech room will embody a warm atmosphere that will allow them to do their best in learning. The lighting changes in particular will be game changers for my students with sensory differences who are easily overstimulated and stressed by harsh/overly bright lighting. With these items, I hope to create a classroom environment where kids can focus fully on what they are learning, rather than have their attention be pulled away by environmental stressors.
