My Project

I teach a wonderful group of energetic and eager third graders at a Title I school in Charlotte, North Carolina. My students come from diverse backgrounds and many face economic challenges, yet they arrive each day ready to learn, grow, and support one another. They thrive in a welcoming and structured classroom environment that helps them feel safe and valued.

My goal is to create a warm, comfortable, and engaging learning space by providing a large classroom carpet.

This carpet will serve as a central hub for our daily morning meetings, read-alouds, group discussions, and collaborative activities.

A classroom carpet will give my students a dedicated space to come together, learn side by side, and participate more fully in our interactive lessons. It will also provide a more comfortable and inclusive environment for students who may need alternative seating options throughout the day.

A carpet might seem like a simple addition, but in our classroom, it would have a huge impact. It would help create a cozier, more organized space where students can feel comfortable, calm, and ready to engage in learning. For students who face instability outside of school, a soft, welcoming area inside the classroom can provide a sense of consistency and care.
