My Students

Do you remember loving a colorful classroom when you were in elementary school? Do you have warm memories of working together as a class to cheer each other on? This warm and welcoming environment helps share a child's opinion of school and learning. Help me create a special space in my classroom!

My students are fourth graders in a Maryland Public School.

Our school is located in a low socio-economic community. Children at our school are used to free lunches and hand-me-down clothing. In an effort to help them feel extra special, I try to make our classroom as welcoming and aesthetically pleasing as possible. My students take great pride in our classroom and are inspired to strive for academic excellence.

My Project

This carpet will help to create a central meeting location for our class to gather to discuss what we read or solve problems that arise in our classroom. In a time when school bullying is at an all time high, it is crucial to create this kind of supportive environment.
