I am the lucky teacher of 24 amazing third graders. They come to school eager to learn and build their knowledge. They are determined, energetic and love to apply their skills. My students have limited resources and are from a low-income/high poverty school with 100% free lunch. Just getting to school can be a challenge for some of them. But we persevere!
My students work hard everyday!
They put their best foot forward and try to apply what they know. They love hands-on learning and building team projects which has lead to a beautiful classroom rapport!
The rug will give us an area where we can all sit and have our morning meeting, read a book, and dive into our hands-on learning materials. As you can imagine our classroom carpet is older than the hills. Not a very comfortable place to lay down or sit for an extended period of time.
A classroom rug will give us a clean, comfortable place to collaborate and get our hands on some great stories.
The books will help us get our minds off our troubles and create a love of reading. It is so important to have books of various interest levels for my students. I want to make sure they have many options at their independent reading levels to get their hands on.
