This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, Ms. Ihsan and I will be co-teaching the Language Arts block, and we're excited to build a warm, productive space where all students can thrive. To support our students’ learning, we're requesting a large classroom rug, sturdy stools, and a full set of durable headphones.

The rug will provide a comfortable area for students to read, write, collaborate with partners, or meet with a teacher for one-on-one conferences.

Many of our students prefer working on the floor, and we want to give them a space that’s inviting and spacious enough for everyone.

We're also asking for a set of durable stools to use at work tables during small-group instruction. After researching and receiving recommendations, we've chosen stools known for their sturdiness and longevity. By requesting all stools in the same color, we hope to avoid any distractions or disagreements—students can simply grab a stool and get to work.

Finally, we’re requesting a classroom set of high-quality headphones. Too often, headphones break or go missing, and students are left with no choice but to play audio aloud, which disrupts others. These reliable headphones will allow each student to focus on their work without distraction.

With your support, we can create a classroom that supports focus, collaboration, and comfort, where every student can do their best learning.
