Creating a Comfortable, Focused and Engaged Learning Space for All

My Students

In our classroom, students are the leaders, they help teach their peers in ways I cannot reach them. My students are always part of the learning process. I want to get them excited about being in school and learning the best way they can!

My students are from diverse backgrounds and have diverse learning styles.

This year is especially unique because several of my students spent their entire Kindergarten year online. They love first grade because they learn to read and write and do "hard" math problems. We work hard every day to connect our learning to things in our lives to make it more memorable. My students are all very different, but they work together very well and are always willing to help one other. They have great manners and they strive to reach the goals that are set in front of them each day. We talk every day about how we can do hard things! My students believe they can achieve and most importantly help other students achieve anything they believe they can do. We talk about how perseverance and a positive attitude will take them to many places in life!

My Project

First graders love to learn and move! Children need to move. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow allowing children to be more focused and engaged!

Your donation will allow my students to choose their best learning station!

In our room, students are 100% part of the learning process. Allowing them to choose their seat gives them greater flexibility and control of their environment. Flexible seating also opens up our classroom space for more collaboration with peers!
