I have the most creative, amazing, caring, talented kindergarten students who thrive on opportunities to engage in challenging, unique and meaningful units and lessons! My students come from a suburban community where they have limited in-person opportunities to see the world. My students deserve every opportunity, and I hope you will choose to partner with our class to make that happen.

My Project
School should be a lot like Disney World. Luckily, there is a professional development for this! I will be learning how Disney creates and manages this magic. We will need admission to the parks because that is where all of the learning will be taking place. Our learning will take us all through the wonderful world of Disney to learn inquiry-based teaching strategies in the classroom. We will engage in activities that will re-ignite teaching passion and will continue to improve skills by embracing failure and taking risks.
This once in a lifetime professional development will allow me to learn how one of the most successful companies in the world creates the excitement and magic that inspires young and old alike.
Through our breakout sessions and scavenger hunts, we will be working with Disney to learn how they manage, operate, create magic, and inspire.
This is truly an amazing opportunity, teachers learning in the happiest place on the planet! I will be so pumped to simulate the things I learn. I will leave knowing how to create inquiry-based financial literacy lessons for my students in which I can incorporate my community. I will also learn how to incorporate motivational techniques that will create a climate of magic for my students. I will be able to help my students embrace failure and take more academic risks. All of these components of study will re-inspire and re-invigorate my passion for teaching. This fall, I will take my students learning up a notch. I will be inviting businesses from our local area to help my students learn about financial literacy through unique challenges like I experience at Disney. I also plan to incorporate techniques learned through this professional development to engage my students in more diverse experiences.
