This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi there! As I begin my very first year as a teacher, I’m stepping into an empty classroom with a full heart and big dreams. I’ll be working with WIDA Level 1 students, bright, resilient newcomers who are just beginning their English language journey. Many of them are adjusting to a new country, new school, and new language all at once.

These materials will help me create a warm, welcoming, and language-rich environment where my students can feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.

Basic hygiene and food items are just as essential as pencils and books. Many of my students arrive with limited resources, and meeting their basic needs helps ensure they are ready to focus, feel comfortable, and fully engage in learning.

With your help, I can turn a bare room into a space filled with care, color, culture, and creativity. Where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered.
