My Project

As an elementary special education teacher, I strive to find ways for my students to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally. In recent years, I have noticed increased anxiety levels in many of my students and see the impact that stress can have on their academic progress. My aim with this project is offer materials and resources that can be used either within their general education classrooms or in my setting that will allow them to manage their emotions and reduce stress so that they can focus on their learning. These items include voice recorders, a calming pillow, fidget tubes, stickers, and other items devoted to social and emotional well-being.
