As a school-based mental health provider, I work with amazing teenagers who navigate daily academic and personal challenges. Many of my students experience anxiety, stress, and overwhelming emotions, making it essential to have a dedicated space where they can regulate and refocus.
I am creating a Calming Corner - a safe and welcoming area where students can take a break, practice self-regulation, and return to their day feeling more balanced.
To make this space effective, I am requesting:
- stress balls for sensory engagement and stress relief
- a weighted blanket to provide deep-pressure comfort and reduce anxiety
- a weighted stuffed animal to offer emotional support and grounding
- a calming lamp to create a soothing atmosphere
- a table to organize these tools for easy student access
