Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Over the years of teaching elementary school students in a public school setting, most if not all of the materials and decorations that found their way into my classroom were inherited from other teachers. Though these items have served me well thus far, much of the quality has been deteriorating and it is beginning to be more evident that I am in need of a revamp. I hope to create a classroom environment that is welcoming and gets students excited to learn.
I have listed a few items that will help create a calm and inviting space for my students.
One big item is a new rug where my students can have a space to sit comfortably for different learning activities and lessons. I have also included rolls of paper and borders to put on my walls where I will be able to create different bulletin boards to showcase student work. Other items will be used to decorate the room and create different nooks and reading spaces that are welcoming and kid-friendly.
