My Project

My current second graders were the first kindergartners whose educational experience started online due to COVID. In Kindergarten, where face-to-face learning is critical, the students were expected to learn via a WebEx meet-up. The impact of the pandemic and online learning at such a young age has been significant. Students are missing key building ppblocks of knowledge that are necessary for success. The resources requested will help me create a more effective learning environment, providing more hands-on, visual, and motivating tools for learning. The dry-erase boards and erasers will be used as a way to do quick informal assessments. The 3 -in-1 binding machine will allow students to bind their writing and research reports building the love and motivation to write. The pocket charts will display sound spelling cards and other card resources for our school's reading program.

Magnetic tiles, and building sticks to inspire creativity, aid in the development of fine motor skills, and build geometry understanding.

The 10-sided dice will be used for our many hands-on math games. The set of books requested will help build our classroom library which encourages students to read a variety of texts, both fiction and nonfiction. I have also requested a privacy partitions storage rack. Recently I purchased privacy partitions to help eliminate distractions and help students to focus and keep their eyes from wandering when doing an assessment or other classroom tasks. It was an expensive purchase, $195.90 with shipping! Since this purchase was a costly investment, I would like make sure I can make this partitions last. Currently the partitions are placed on the floor because there is limited spaced on my book shelves. The rack would keep the partitions safe in an organized manner. And finally, the carpet markers (dots) will give students their "designated spot" during carpet
