Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a title I school on the outskirts of town. This school has amazing families and students; however, financially, many of them struggle. My students are hard working and excited to learn. This year, more than half of my students are English language learners. This can create some challenges in learning, but they are persevering and working hard to learn more and more each day. They love to read and are excited when new books are introduced. My students are respectful and responsible. They are awesome!

My Project

This set of tablets will help my students access intervention programs as well as fun videos and games to help strengthen their math and literacy skills. They will also be able to explore the different resources available on line, in a safe way, since these tablets are made for kids. Students will be able to use 21st century skills to construct their own knowledge and do research on topics they are interested in. These tablets will also help to teach students important technology skills that will enhance their ability to use technology since often times, due to testing, they are unable to use the school's computer lab.
