Create Projects and Relax in the Calming Corner

Help me give my students building sets, headphones, duct tape, border and bulleting board paper to create projects using these materials, and use the comfortable seating in the calming area.

My Project

My students have special needs and many of them are on the spectrum. However, they are very artistically gifted. I purchase items to tap into this to motivate and develop confidence within themselves. I have stations set up. Each student moves from one station to another on a daily basis.

There is always an art activity tailored for my special education students.

This activity goes with the topic we are focusing on in both Language Arts and Mathematics. The activity is designed to promote expression and build motor and sensory skills. They will work on this activity for more than a week usually.

An extension of this activity is to share their completed project with their peers. Each student will answer questions brought up by their classmates in a smal group discussion.
