This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When I think about the things that set my students apart from the world I think about the everyday challenges they continue to overcome and the odds they have defied within a low income community. They come in everyday with the most illuminating energy ready to take on any challenge ahead of them.
Having an area rug in our classroom will not only increase their comfortability during learning but give them more flexible seating options to explore in art based on their individual needs.
This will also designate a space to further develop Social Awareness and build camaraderie art dialogue. The more we come together the more we grow together. It is my goal to create a space where my students can come to learn, exhale, and excel.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
