Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diverse inner-city learners. In addition to regular education classrooms, we have a Dual Language classroom in every grade. We are located in the South Bronx. We are a Title I school with more than 80 percent of the students at our school receiving free lunch. More than 70 percent of our students are Hispanic and over 25 percent are Black. Our students are at a financial disadvantage.

My class has a group of special students in the school.

They are new in the country and have language barriers, academic needs, and financial needs. They are forming new cultural identities while they work in their English, math, reading, and writing. They work hard every day and they are super eager to learn.

My class needs different ways to get engaged and motivated.

My Project

Having a Cricut Maker Machine in my classroom will help make bulletin boards, organize and decorate our classroom, provide students with an opportunity to get creative with projects, create learning materials, and make personalized incentives as rewards.

The Cricut Maker will provide students with endless opportunities to create and learn.

My students will use the Cricut Maker to bring projects to life with many designs. The machine will also be used to create bulletin boards and classroom decorations to provide the students with a welcoming environment. The Cricut Maker can also be used to make T-shirts for celebrations, field trips, and events.
