Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classes include Introduction to Art, Art 2, Graphic Design and Photography. These classes contain an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are building skills in the areas of drawing, painting, art history, design, photography and more!
In this class, we build a community around art, creativity and self expression.
We are part of a larger high school school community that is built upon personalized learning and restorative practices. At this school, the total minority enrollment is 90%, and 90% of students are economically disadvantaged.
Students are learning the building blocks of art, the elements and principles of design, and how to apply this knowledge through a variety of media and techniques. They also utilize technology and even create online art blogs! These students are learning healthy self expression. They are building confidence. This classroom is a positive place where individuality and creativity is encouraged and supported!
My Project
My students deserve a vibrant and welcoming art classroom! Please consider aiding us in this goal. Help create a colorful art room where students have books to learn from and their own caddies and easels. I currently do not have any art books in my classroom and I would love to create a mini art library.
A welcoming and vibrant classroom contributes to a positive classroom culture.
It helps students feel welcome and encouraged. I have many different levels of students and would love a variety of materials to help them succeed and feel inspired.
Some of these materials include: Art Books, Easels, Caddies and Color Wheels in both English and Spanish!
I have students of many abilities and a LED light box will help many of them who would benefit from tracing. Thank you for your time and consideration!
