This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Book storage bins for our classroom library will help students be able to locate their favorite fiction, non fiction, and picture books. Currently our classroom library books are just on shelves with all of the books mixed together with no organization or order.

Storage bins for our classroom library books would allow us to organize our books into book types (fiction, non fiction, chapter, and picture books), by reading level, and by topic.

Students would be able to use the skills that they learn at our school’s library to find the book that they would like to read from our classroom library.

Organizing our classroom library will also further encourage all of the different levels of readers in my class to find the perfect book for them to enjoy reading. For many of my students, the school and classroom library are the only sources that they have available to them for obtaining a book to read to practice improving their reading and literacy skills.

I am hoping to create a organized and enjoyable library space for my students to grow their reading skills!
