This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from a Title I school with a high level of poverty and mostly low-income families. These families have trouble providing the basic supplies for 7 high schools classes, such as notebooks, binders, pens, and pencils. Some of my students are also English language learners and others have disabilities. Despite their adversities, they are bright, creative, and want to learn.

As a teacher, I try my best to supply my students with as many supplies as possible so they may complete the same fun labs and projects that a school in a higher-income city may experience.

The supplies I have requested will help freshman biology and sophomore environmental science students create their own creatures with unique adaptations. This allows them to put science into action and see their work come to life!
