My Project

One of the problems in my classes is that there is never enough colored pencils or markers for the students to work at one time using same medium. I have found through my years of teaching a creative subject that giving students some freedom to discover a bit on their own is key to sparking their interest in something new. It’s always a battle with nice quality paper, markers and pencils. Should I let them use the markers up on their fun poster or force them to save them for an assignment I need them to complete.

I could get cheap supplies, but there is joy in using quality tools for art.

They feel it and I notice students discovering layered colors on their own just because our 2 small sets of markers are so nice.
