A positive classroom environment feels safe, welcoming, and supports my student learning.

My diverse learners are English Language Learners in the 7th and 8th grade at a Title I school in Brooklyn. Several have interrupted formal educations, causing educational setbacks on top of language barriers. While they are faced with a multitude of challenges, they are kind, smart, hardworking, and come to class each day with the desire to learn.

My Project

My class was just awarded a set of Kindles! These devices help my students enjoy reading even more. Paired with our cozy beanbag chairs, reading time in my classroom has become something my students CANNOT wait to do. We now have so many books at our fingertips thanks to the Kindles, and we want to keep it that way.

With new Kindles comes new responsibilities.

Finger smudges, accidental banging, scratches...these are things we want to prevent with our new Kindles!

Audio books on the Kindles are great, unless everyone is trying to listen to something different without headphones.

My students are growing and maturing; learning to be responsible for all things in our classroom. They want to keep our class set of Kindles in pristine condition, but that's hard to do without the necessary accessories. With screen protectors and Kindle cases, we can make sure our Kindles stay brand new. With new headphones, my readers can choose from a variety audio books. These accessories will help my students enjoy reading even more!
