My school is considered a low-income school with about 1,000 students. Our school has a great amount of community involvement, but we lack the resources needed to ensure that all of our students get the best education experience possible. While our teachers do the best with what we have, it would be so nice to give our students the best of everything.
My students are superstars.
They take what they are given and make the best of any situation. Coming from a majority low-income community, many students do not have the opportunity to have access to education resources, materials, and experiences as some other students. However, they fully immerse themselves into school in order to ensure they have a successful future.
My Project
My students need nine Dell refurbished Chromebooks to help our classroom move towards becoming a one to one device classroom. My class currently has access to twelve Chromebooks on a daily basis.
We use these Chromebooks for many things, but mainly to complete work in Google Classroom.
Implementing Google Classroom this year has transformed my classroom! My students are able to work at their own level, and their own pace. However, an important piece in implementing this type of classroom is having the technology to do so. Therefore, adding the additional Chromebooks would be extremely beneficial. If every child was able to have a device, every child would be able to take their learning to the next level.
