My students need kinetic sand, molds, Lego compatible boards, and lacing cards as reading, math and fine motor manipulatives to use during center time.
I work in a beautiful, rural county in Florida. Over 80% of the students in our county come from low-income families which make us a Title I county. We are a very close knit community where everyone knows everyone. The students in my preschool classroom consists of 4 and 5 year olds with varying learning abilities and styles.
For many of my students, this is their first experience in a public school setting.
Because of this, I want each day to be filled with activities that are fun, engaging and challenging so that every child can't wait to return to school the following day.
My Project
The manipulatives that we are requesting will help students investigate, explore, experiment and reinforce the concepts that they are learning about. The kinetic sand, molds, Lego compatible boards, and lacing cards will help students with fine motor skills. The letter, number, and calendar manipulatives will help students further strengthen their understanding of letters, sounds, numbers and counting.
Center time is extremely important for growth in a preschool classroom.
Centers are areas in the classroom where students learn about specific subjects by playing and engaging in activities. During center time, my students are able to make decisions, cooperate with others, and problem solve.
