Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a small community in East Los Angeles, and they're some of the most resilient individuals I have ever met. They love to learn and engage in fun new activities at school with their classmates. They are so motivated to read and improve their literary skills. This group of scholars is truly inspiring and unique.
My Project
These books will be added to the books they already have in their classroom library. Some of the books we selected complete a series they've already started. Some of the books are series that have been selected by scholars like Magic Tree House and Junie B. Jones. I only have a few in our current library, and the students have requested that they would like to read more of them if they were available.
If these books are funded, it will keep my kids at a steady rate of quality reading at school and home.
I hope to make sure that they have all the resources available to them to be successful so that they can reach their reading goal by the end of the school year.
