Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright preschoolers and kindergarteners with special needs. They are three to five-year-olds with various disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, other health impairment, and speech/language delays.

My students are from low-income families and almost all are English language learners.

Some have just arrived in the United States from Mexico with parents who do not speak English. Despite the many challenges they face, they come ready each day to learn and play with the most positive attitudes.

It has been a true blessing to watch my students learn and grow. Their determination and eagerness to learn are what fuels me. These young scholars amaze me every single day with their big hearts! A day in our classroom consists of enthusiasm, energy, and excitement. Every accomplishment, big or small, is celebrated!

My Project

As an early childhood educator, I will always try my best to provide plenty of opportunities and resources to enrich my students’ experience in school. A Cricut machine will serve many purposes, we will put it to great use! I want my students to continue to be eager and excited to learn by providing them with engaging activities in a colorful, inviting learning environment.

This Cricut machine will help us create beautiful crafts, bulletin boards, and scrapbooks!

We do art activities daily in preschool. My students love to cut, glue and create. Our weekly themes include space, zoo animals, and dinosaurs; the possibilities are endless in creating art activities for each theme. We change our bulletin boards often to reflect all the learning that goes on in our classroom. My students' work is displayed on the wall for everyone to enjoy. They are so proud of their work and I am so proud of them! Lastly, I create a scrapbook for each and every one of my students. Each scrapbook is unique, just like them. Each scrapbook consist of pictures, artwork, and quotes. My students' families are so happy when they come to Open House to see their child's hard work all year, as well as view the scrapbook for the first time. It makes all our hard work and time invested worth it!
