I teach in a low-income area at a Title I school, where most of our kids are on free or reduced-price lunch! My students love learning and love coming to school every day! Each one of my students is an important part of our class community where we listen to each other, talk about our differences and become friends with our experiences.
I have an amazing, learning loving group of 20!
A lot of my students come to school needing the basic school supplies and uniforms! It is my job to make sure they have everything they need to be successful!
My Project
Being at home during this time can be very hard! Missing friends and school! My students love creating things with various art tools! I want to bring the classroom to their home with these art supplies! In my class, we create one of a kind art pieces in response to either writing or our story for the week! It lets them be creative while having a deeper understanding of what they are reading or writing! And what’s even better? They love it from start to finish!! During this first week, I have seen some of the artwork they have created, putting smiles on their faces! Imagine what they could do with more options!
