Crafty First Graders

Help me give my students art supplies! We are constantly trying to incorporate art into all content areas. We love creating art and crafts that correlate with our curriculum and making t-shirts for our field trips.

My Students

I teach a first grade class at a rural elementary school along the Gulf Coast of Alabama. We are a Lighthouse School for the Stephen Covey, Leader in Me process. My first graders are wonderful! They love to come to school and learn new things. My students are very eager to learn and take on leadership roles within the classroom and school.

Incorporating art into learning excites my students.

Adding this component into lessons provides for a deeper more meaningful learning experience. My first graders are an energetic group and are always trying to do their best!

My Project

My students are in need of a variety of art supplies, and Cricut materials to create arts and crafts that correlate with our curriculum. These materials will also enable us to make t-shirts that correlate with holidays and field trips. The requested materials include paint supplies, painting canvases, construction paper, colored pencils, vinyl, Cricut supplies, and holiday craft kits.

These materials will give my students the opportunity to cooperatively explore and integrate art into our daily lessons.

The ability to individual express themselves through art will enhance the depth of their knowledge in all content areas. In addition, art makes learning fun and exciting for all of my students.
