Our class is a 1st and 2nd grade Montessori class in a public school. My classes are usually almost an even split of first and second graders. Nearly all of the students in my class come from a low socioeconomic background and do not have access to a lot of things children in other areas or situations have. I try to make up for this through our lessons, and work to find ways to allow them to gain experiences.
My students are kind, generous, and very inquisitive, keeping me on my toes with their curiosity of the world around them, which they know I love.
They are a great group of students who deserve to have a wider range of experiences than their situation allows. As a teacher in a Montessori class, I try very hard to fill the gap. I also try very hard to make our classroom a very comfortable and inviting environment that allows them to explore, learn, and grow.
My Project
This is a 1st and 2nd grade Montessori class. Being Montessori students, they love to do a lot of independent research studies. The Cricut machine would allow them to create designs for their research projects. This machine would also allow them to design and create a wide variety of different things from labels to t-shirts to ornaments.
I have a class of very creative students who love to create things from their imaginations.
This machine would allow their creations to come to life. By allowing the students to design so much in their classroom environment, it would help them have a sense of ownership of their environment.
Crafts of this nature and quality is not something many of my students have much exposure to. Getting a classroom machine will allow them to see their creativity come to life in a high quality manner.
