My Project
Every Friday afternoon, our school offers several options for students to come together and socialize. These clubs offer special opportunities for students to engage in activities that they enjoy, which can be a welcome distraction from the challenges of daily life. So far we have a music club, a movies club, a game club, and a technology club. I would love to start a craft club for students, where they could learn a new skill and share their talent!
Our students with disabilities often struggle with self-esteem, confidence, and other mental health challenges.
I believe a Crafty Cricut Club would offer a safe space for students to meet peers with similar interests, which could help improve resilience, build confidence, and provide a healthy outlet for stress. Our students love hands-on hobbies and tasks, and enjoy expressing themselves through art.
In order to get our club up and running, we would like a new, updated Cricut Maker machine with materials to make stickers for cups. The stickers we create will include positive, uplifting messages that will bring so much joy to our school. I know that this club will help to give our students a sense of pride and accomplishment when they learn a new skill or complete a project. I can't wait to see what they make!
